The Platinum Goats prize goes to Witold Giersz for his lifetime achievement in animation for children. Witold Giersz is one of the most eminent creators of Polish animation, a versatile artist with extensive output, for whom children’s productions have always played a special role. The Festival will feature a full-time cult animation Please, Mr. Elephant directed by the winner. It should be mentioned that Platinum Goats were first awarded in 2002, when they went to the doyen of Polish children’s cinema, Maria Kaniewska, who directed such legendary films as Awantura o Basię, Szatan z 7 klasy and Panienka z okienka. Later on, the winners of the prize were: Stanisław Jędryka, Andrzej Maleszka, Hanna Polak and Andrzej Celiński (authors of the Oscar-nominated Dzieci z Leningradzkiego), Dorota Kedzierzawska for the film Jestem / I Am, and finally, in 2007, the Se-ma-for studio, which had created animations about Teddy Drop-Ear.
